Staff in the hotel is great, the poor customer service is for the business. It's below the average Australian managed hospitality businesses .

Second the king bed was fake !! King size sheets over 2 mattresses. Really uncomfortable in the middle. The rooms are nice and the view is excellent , but I wouldn't recommend it due to the poor customer service.

The restaurant breakfast was delightful and we were lucky enough to have breakfast included in our rate. The views from the terrace are beautiful and the wait staff are super nice and helpful. For $35 the breakfast comes with a continental style buffet of juices, fruits, pastries, and bread AND a hot breakfast. I highly recommend getting the full brekkie (eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, mushrooms, and roasted tomatoes). For dinner, the restaurant was average for the price - expect to spend approximately $85 to $115 on food alone because the menu is priced by how many courses you order with a minimum of two (min of three on Friday and Saturdays). I would definitely prefer the breakfast over the dinner service.

We stayed here for our babymoon. This hotel is so lovely and relaxing. Amazing view, super helpful and friendly staff, and good food. Well worth the money!

I had my wedding here. The day was lovely and went well, though we weren't particularly impressed with the management of event planning. It seemed as if the 'rules' kept changing, and we had I think 2 quotes with mistakes on them. Pricing seemed arbitrary and also changed without reason - for example, getting more expensive unexpectedly due to previously undisclosed room booking requirements. The price also dropped on the restaurant booking for some reason. At times we were left waiting for responses and had to chase it up. I understand it can be confusing to plan an event but it's fair to expect professionalism and a smooth planning experience with a chain such as this.

First problem the booking. I booked a room for 2 adults and 1 kid and they before they phone me to tell me that the booked room only had one bed, but the kid could sleep in the same bed without charge. The alternative was to change to a different room without view and pay extra for a bed. Worst service ever for a $500 per night hotel.

3 stars for a great day, location and staff, -2 for difficult planning which left us incredibly stressed.

While we were in Katoomba we spent three nights at the Echoes Boutique Hotel. We were placed in the "Bell" room (each room is named after a person or place, it seems), which was spacious and clean. The walls, however, were quite thin and it was easy to hear any movement above us or outside in the lobby.

Great place! Lovely staff, top shelf amenities. Got engaged here... would do it again... I guess?

We turned down the garden location for the wedding due to a really dingy back entrance that guests would go through - not attractive and really would take away from the glamour. Were I running the hotel, nobody would see that back alley at all, or it would be tidied so guests can't see random supplies and garbage bags to the side.

Our day went well thanks to the quick thinking of my groom, but engaged couples do take a lot of care when choosing this venue for a wedding. Everyone loved the food and the wait staff were great, very friendly and attentive but not overbearing. Planning it all was a bit of a nightmare though.

The front desk staff were friendly and tried hard to be helpful but the people we encountered did not appear to have a lot of experience setting up tours or assisting hotel guests with the activities around the area. We ended up going into town and setting up tours and bus passes ourselves after some internet research.
