  The carpet in the room was puckered & the paintwork was pealing & lifting. Our wardrobe was missing the hanging rail & the interior of the wardrobe was covered with a layer of dust.

  For what we paid for this room it was rubbish. The photos show a quaint historical hotel but in reality it's a dilapidated tired old place in need of major repairs. Our bathroom was what you'd expect in a small country town out west. The tiling was old & dirty, the shower curtain had dirty marks all over it. There were old broken fittings in the bathroom from a previous shampoo/conditioner dispenser.

  The hotel is not 'charming' as advertised. There's a difference between historic and just plain old. The rooms are dirty, furniture and carpet need to be replaced and walls repainted, ensuite is literally revolting and has broken fixtures. Don't get me started on the beds and pillows. Everything basically needs a good clean. The music is nice at night but the whole hotel reeks of food smells (does not seem to be well ventilated) and as we have a break in our hotel room after a big morning of bushwalking we can hear are the chefs/kitchen staff swearing in the kitchen downstairs. Nice. I wish we had booked somewhere else and as another reviewer said, i had to give it 1 star to leave this review but didn't want to give it any.

  The hotel is old and showing! Staff we friendly service was good...food was good. The housekeeping left a lot to be desired. We stayed 2 nights and when we arrived the room hadn't been vaccumed or dusted in a while. When housekeeping came again the service the room the vacuuming and dusting still wasn't done. For the money we paid we expected more.
