  We very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel is beautifully decorated and so warm and snug. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. I loved the gas fire and the spa bath. The free WiFi is amazing. It's actually free and none of this only free for the first day nonsense. The check out time was very reasonable; 11am. There was a great selection of food for breakfast. The only reason I take away a star is because of some problems with the room. The seal around the minifridge was completely broken and so it leaked and nothing stayed cold. The wiring on the hairdryer was coming exposed. Speaking of which, the hairdryer was terrible so bring your own. Finally my main problem was that our spare roll of toilet paper was covered in black mould. We left it out for housekeeping to dispose of but they just put it back on the shelf.

  Room was clean and bed perfectly made. The only let downs was the shower head was low as with most older places and the bathroom quality such as the paintwork on the panel under the sink was poor, and overall feel of the bathroom was it needed an upgrade. The toilet is positioned too close to the wall so any larger person would have been pressed up against the wall. Overall though the stay was enjoyable and the views from the dining room was spectacular. The staff are great too.

  Good location. Very helpful staff. We dined at the hotel both nights and the food was delicious. Breakfast was also good value for money with a good variety if choice.

  The food at the restaurant was amazingly delicious, just the right portion size and variety. All the staff were very friendly, thoughtful and attentive, a true asset to the hotel. The panoramic views from the hotel are gorgeous. The hotel history is adorned on the walls and gives it a unique perspective to it's grandness. A little outdated with furnishings with a mix from classic thirties to spots of eighties glamour. Would have rated 5 stars if the eighties decor was removed and the hotel maintained its thirties traditions. Overall, thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

  Really quite lovely. We stayed in the Deluxe Room with Fireplace & Spa. The Spa in our room did not work which we let them know as we were checking out. Breakfast was good for buffet. The views are amazing and the condition of the building is fantastic. The ambience is quite nice.
