Entrance to the Mt Solitary hiking trail. Dirt road is in dire need of some attention. There were small cars parked in the car park but I think they would have had difficultly! Great trek though.

Don't underestimate the climb it is hard work but steps have been maintained in reasonably good order. We then carriedmon walking to the ruined castle is a great hike. The road to the golden steps is pretty rough but go slow and you will be okay.

It is a big climb but the stairs are in proper order and quite safe for children above 10 years old. The view from top is pretty good. It is a better way to go to the Ruined Castle.

The walk out along Narrow Neck is also great with endless views into the Kanangra-Boyd national park as you make your way out to Tarros Ladder

It's a difficult hike, but the view is worth that effort. We walked to the Ruined Castle from the cablecar, and then on the way back we went upstairs through the Golden Stairs. Nice view on the Three sisters and the surrounding cliffs.
